Filmed Bonnie and Clyde Musical Sets June Premiere Date

The highly anticipated filmed capture of Bonnie & Clyde The Musical has officially announced its release date earlier today. The musical, filmed live in London's West End, will be released digitally on June 24, 2024, through a new platform created specifically for the musical's digital release.

Unlike similar pro-shot releases, the musical will skip popular streaming providers and will offer rentals directly through a new online platform that was specifically set up by the show's producers.

Recorded live at Theatre Royal Drury Lane during two staged concert performances in January 2022, Bonnie & Clyde The Musical stars Jeremy Jordan as Clyde and Frances Mayli McCann as Bonnie. Watch the new trailer below!

Jordan, renowned for his roles in The Great Gatsby, Waitress, and Supergirl, originated the role of Clyde Barrow in the Broadway premiere of the production in 2011. McCann, known for her roles in Heathers, debuted as Bonnie in the West End.

Under the direction of Nick Winston, the sold-out staged concerts in London propelled Bonnie & Clyde The Musical to become a sensation in the UK. Following extended runs at London’s Arts Theatre and the Garrick Theatre, the show embarked on a nationwide tour, currently playing in more than 30 venues across the UK & Ireland. The West End cast album, released in July, is available on all major streaming platforms.

The musical is now available to pre-order in both an ad-supported format and an ad-free format. The recording will be $14.99 for the ad-free version, with the ad-supported version being $9.99. Pre-orders for the filmed production can now be made through the show's official site.

In addition to the viewing experience, the musical also offers specially made merchandise on the show's official site to accompany the release of the digital film.

A physical release of the recording or release on popular streaming platforms has not been announced at this time. The recording was looking for a streaming provider for a long time, with the concert being filmed more than 2 years ago.

Jeremy Jordan expressed his excitement, stating, “Playing Clyde Barrow in Bonnie & Clyde The Musical has been a career highlight for me. I was thrilled to reprise the role alongside the incredible Frances Mayli McCann as Bonnie for a special concert at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 2022, and now I'm ecstatic to share that rendition of the show with audiences worldwide.”

Producer David Treatman talked about the filming process of the capture, stating, "We were able to capture an extraordinary performance of this beloved show in an unusually vital way. There is an electricity that courses through the performances that we were able to translate to the screen through the excellence of the artists involved at every level of the production, and an innovative approach to the taping. While nothing can replace the live experience, our film harnesses the power of cinema to capture its essence, preserving the energy of live performance while embracing the advantages of film, delivering both the danger and excitement of the stage alongside the intimacy and intention of the camera at a price that anyone can afford."

In addition to Jordan and McCann, the filmed concert includes George Maguire as Buck, Natalie McQueen as Blanche, and Trevor Dion Nicholas as Preacher, among others.

The electrifying tale of love, adventure, and crime unfolds in Bonnie & Clyde The Musical, chronicling the rise of two small-town kids to the status of America's most notorious folk heroes. Music is by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Don Black, and a book by Ivan Menchell. Directed by Nick Winston, the concerts boast musical direction by Katy Richardson.
