Here’s How to Stream The Prince of Egypt Musical for Free

The highly anticipated filmed London production of 'The Prince of Egypt - the Musical' is now available for streaming in select regions! Universal Studios and DreamWorks released the film to cinemas across Europe last month and have now made the live capture of the musical accessible to viewers through a special partnership with select streaming channels.

Based on the 1998 animated film and featuring an expanded Stephen Schwartz score, the filmed production premiered in UK cinemas on October 19th and is scheduled for its global streaming rollout on December 5th. Those who can't wait can stream the film now for free thanks to Amazon Channels!

The musical was captured live at London's Dominion Theatre by STEAM Motion & Sound, who also worked on the recent "Waitress - Filmed Live on Broadway" capture set for release next month. Universal Content Group financed the release together with European distributor Trafalgar Releasing ("Anything Goes", "The King and I").

The Prince of Egypt - the Musical can now be streamed for free through a special 7-day trial on BroadwayHD's Amazon Channel. BroadwayHD has acquired the rights to distribute the musical in partnership with Universal Studios and will exclusively stream the capture until its wider global release on December 5th.

Thanks to their Amazon Channel partnership, viewers can now sign up for free and stream The Prince of Egypt - the Musical before the live capture is officially released on December 5th.

While Universal has established a reputation for their physical releases of stage musicals like "Shrek the Musical," "The Phantom of the Opera," and "Love Never Dies," it's worth noting that, as of now, no official announcement has been made regarding a physical release for "The Prince of Egypt."

The musical was filmed three times, with and without an audience, to capture close-ups and crane shots. To catch a glimpse of exclusive photos from the filming at the Dominion Theatre, check out our Prince of Egypt photo gallery.

The film was granted a PG rating by the British Board of Film Classification on August 17th. The rating is due to "mild violence, threat, and upsetting scenes." The film has been cleared for release as a "VOD/Streaming" title by the board and boasts a runtime of 144 minutes.

The Prince of Egypt - the Musical is under the direction of Scott Schwartz, with choreography by Sean Cheesman. The creative team includes set designs by Kevin Depinet, costume designs by Ann Hould-Ward, lighting design by Mike Billings, and sound design by Gareth Owen.
