Pluto TV to Stream The Tony Awards: Act One for Free Ahead of Ceremony

Pluto TV, the popular free streaming service, has announced that it will be broadcasting "The Tony Awards: Act One," a pre-show of live, exclusive content leading into the 76th Annual Tony Awards.

This announcement is exciting news for Broadway fans, as they will now have access to the pre-show without needing a streaming subscription. "The Tony Awards: Act One" will feature interviews with nominees, highlights from the past year's Broadway productions, and sneak peeks at upcoming shows.

The pre-show will also feature musical numbers performed by Broadway stars who will be nominated for Tony Awards this year. The event will be hosted by well-known Broadway actors who will provide commentary throughout the program.

 


 

Pluto TV is available for free on various devices, including smartphones, smart TVs, tablets, and gaming consoles. "The Tony Awards: Act One" will air exclusively on Pluto TV on June 11, 2023 at 6:30-8:00 PM ET, and will be available by going to the “Pluto TV Celebrity” channel. 

Immediately following "The Tony Awards: Act One" presentation, the main event, the 76th Annual Tony Awards, will air live on CBS from 8:00-11:00 PM ET. The awards show will also be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

This year's ceremony will be hosted by Ariana DeBose, an Academy Award winner and Tony Award nominee who is well-known for her performances in "Hamilton" and "West Side Story." DeBose will be hosting the event live from the United Palace, a historic venue located in Washington Heights, New York City.

The anticipation for the 76th Annual Tony Awards is building as the nominations for the upcoming ceremony are set to be announced on May 2nd. The nominees will be announced by Myles Frost and Lea Michele in a live webcast on the Tony Awards website.
