Broadway's Between Riverside and Crazy Streams Live This Month

Broadway's Second Stage Theater will continue with its efforts to make its productions accessible this month with multiple live streams of its current Broadway production Between Riverside and Crazy.

Following the incredible success of their live streaming initiative, the theater company that owns Broadway's Hayes Theater will once again offer simulcasts online, this time of the Stephen Adly Guirgis' play, directed by Austin Pendleton.

Similarly to their previous (and first) live stream of the Tony-nominated production of Clyde's last year, the final two weeks of the play will be streaming online starting January 31st, 2023. Theater fans who cannot attend in person will be able to stream a live Broadway performance from home.

While companies like BroadwayHD tried simulcasting live Broadway productions in the past (Notably with Broadway's She Loves Me and Holiday Inn), it's an expensive venture that most theater companies and streaming platforms try to avoid.

Here are all the details on the upcoming simulcasts of Second Stage's "Between Riverside and Crazy", and how to get your tickets:

Last season's simulcasts of Broadway's "Clyde's" were a resounding success, being watched in more than 49 states with most shows selling out. As with the previous live streams of Second Stage, due to agreements with the various theater unions, streaming passes can only fill existing empty seats in the theater, making tickets extremely limited.

Live streaming from Broadway's Hayes Theatre would be seven cameras, edited in real-time as the performance happens. Unlike most stage captures, the Second Stage cameras are operated remotely and are situated discreetly throughout the theater to avoid any disruption to the audience.

The simulcast performances will run from January 31 to February 12, with tickets available now directly from Second Stage.

All live stream tickets are $68, which includes a $9 service fee. The broadcast is operated by "The League of Live Stream Theater" which is operated by Second Stage.

All streams are live, which means viewers will need to watch the performance at the scheduled time. Streaming ticket holders will be unable to view the show a second time or at a later date.

City Hall is demanding more than his signature, the landlord wants him out, the liquor store is closed — and the Church won’t leave him alone. For ex-cop and recent widower Walter “Pops” Washington and his recently paroled son Junior, the struggle to hold on to one of the last great rent-stabilized apartments on Riverside Drive collides with old wounds, sketchy new houseguests and a final ultimatum in this Pulitzer Prize-winning dark comedy from Stephen Adly Guirgis. For Pops and Junior, it seems the old days are dead and gone — after a lifetime of living Between Riverside and Crazy.

Between Riverside and Crazy stars Victor Almanzar (Halfway Bitches Go Straight To Heaven), Elizabeth Canavan (Pipeline, Last Days of Judas Iscariot), Rosal Colon (A Free Man of Color, The Motherf***er with the Hat), Liza Colon-Zayas (FX's The Bear, 2ST's Water By the Spoonful), Oscar, Grammy, and Emmy Award-winner Common (Selma), Stephen McKinley Henderson (Tony Award nominee for Fences, 2ST's Jitney), and Michael Rispoli (The Offer, The Deuce).

The creative team for Between Riverside and Crazy includes scenic design by Walt Spangler, costume design by Alexis Forte, lighting design by Keith Parham, and sound design/original music by Ryan Rumery.
