All-Star Sondheim’s Old Friends Concert Streams Free Tonight
Filmed earlier this year in London's West End, the star-studded Sondheim's Old Friends concert will be streaming tonight thanks to BBC Two! The concert, which was filmed live at the Sondheim Theatre, will air tonight at 5:45 PM GMT and will be available to stream through BBC's iPlayer shortly after. The channel is known for its Christmas musical broadcasts, with last year's Anything Goes with Sutton Foster still available to stream online (and will soon be available on DVD and Blu-Ray). Here is the full lineup for tonight's broadcast of Sondheim's Old Friends: Earlier this year, Cameron Mackintosh invited many of Stephen Sondheim's old friends and collaborators to join him in celebrating his legacy at the newly rebuilt Sondheim Theatre in the West End. The cast appearing in the concert includes Michael Ball, Helena Bonham Carter, Rob Brydon, Petula Clark, Rosalie Craig, Janie Dee, Judi Dench, Daniel Evans, Maria Friedman, Haydn Gwynne, Bonnie Langford, Damian Lewis, Julia McKenzie, Julian Ovenden, Bernadette Peters, Siân Phillips, Jon Robyns, Clive Rowe, Jenna Russell, Imelda Staunton, Charlie Stemp, Hannah Waddingham, Gary Wilmot, and Michael D. Xavier. The production will air tonight on BBC Two at 5:45 PM GMT and will be available to stream through BBC's iPlayer shortly after the broadcast. Staged by Matthew Bourne and Maria Friedman with choreography by Stephen Mear, the concert is accompanied by a 25-piece orchestra conducted by Alfonso Casado Trigo.
