Steam Motion and Sound, who previously filmed Broadway and West End musicals such as Waitress, Prince of Egypt, Aladdin, and Kinky Boots, captured Heathers the Musical live in performance back in May at London's The Other Palace Theatre. Here's all we know about how you can watch Heathers the Musical: Heathers: The Musical will be coming exclusively to The Roku Channel as a Roku Original special. The Roku Channel is an ad-supported streaming platform that is home to Roku Originals, thousands of free movies, TV shows, and live programming. In terms of viewership, the channel is one of the most successful AVOD services with an estimated 63 million viewers in 2021. In addition to a large library of free content, The Roku Channel also offers premium subscriptions from its content partners that include EPIX, SHOWTIME, STARZ, and AMC (similarly to Amazon Prime channels). Heathers: The Musical will not be part of the premium subscriptions. You don't necessarily need a Roku device to watch the Roku Channel. The musical will be released on Friday, September 16th, 2022. Going by previous Roku originals that were added to the Roku Channel platform, the film will be available starting at midnight on September 16th, according to the user's location. Yes! Heathers will mark the first time a pro-shot was released through a free streaming service. Recent musicals were typically acquired for distribution by subscription-based platforms such as Diana the Musical (Netflix), Come From Away (Apple TV+), and Hamilton (Disney+), with Heathers trying a different route this time. As with other Roku Originals, the musical is expected to remain free on the Roku platform for the foreseeable future and does not have a take-down date.
