UK Tour of Titanic the Musical Captured on Film for Future Release

The 10th-anniversary production of Titanic the Musical, currently touring the UK, has been filmed for future release. The musical was recorded earlier this week at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking and is scheduled to continue its 2023 touring plans, including stops in Sheffield, Liverpool, and Dublin.

The original Broadway production of Titanic The Musical received five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book. This new production commemorates the 10th anniversary of its London premiere, which received widespread critical acclaim.

Presented by Danielle Tarento in association with Mayflower Theatre, Southampton, Harmonia, Bruce Robert Harris, and Jack W Batman, the production premiered at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on March 16th, 2023.

Filming of the musical took place using seven cameras placed at multiple locations within the New Victoria Theatre during regular performances, with the cast and crew also filming the show in an empty theater during the day. The release plans have been established with a well-known distributor, and an official announcement is expected in the next couple of months.

On the fateful night of April 14th, 1912, the RMS Titanic, on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, collided with an iceberg and slowly sank. This tragic disaster became one of the most significant events of the 20th century, claiming the lives of 1,517 men, women, and children.

Based on the real people aboard the iconic ship, Titanic The Musical offers a stunning and emotionally charged production that delves into the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of its passengers, each boarding with their own stories and personal ambitions.

Unaware of the impending doom, the Third-Class immigrants dream of a better life in America, the Second-Class passengers envision joining the lifestyles of the rich and famous, while the millionaire Barons of the First Class anticipate everlasting legacies.

Thom Southerland serves as the director, David Woodhead as the set and costume designer, Howard Hudson as the lighting designer, Andrew Johnson as the sound designer, Cressida Carré as the musical staging expert, Mark Aspinall as the musical supervisor, and Ian Weinberger as the creator of new musical arrangements.
