WAITRESS Musical Film Premiere Sells Out, Rush Tickets Available

All screenings of "Waitress: Filmed Live on Broadway" at this year's Tribeca Film Festival have now officially sold out.

The musical, which was captured during its recent Broadway run at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, will have its world premiere at the festival in June. The cast features Sara Bareilles, who wrote the show's original Tony Award-nominated score and played the lead role of Jenna, along with a talented ensemble.

For those who missed out on advanced tickets, a Rush system will be offered at all venues screening the Waitress film. The Rush system functions as a standby line that will form at the venue approximately one hour prior to the scheduled start time.

Admittance is based on availability and will begin roughly 10 minutes prior to the program's start time. Rush Tickets are the same price as advance tickets and are payable upon entry.

This stunning recording of Waitress was filmed during a live Broadway performance of the musical, with the film capturing the essence of the original production beautifully. The film features an exceptional performance by Sara Bareilles herself, who steps back into the role of Jenna.

"Waitress: Filmed Live on Broadway" will have three screenings during the festival: Monday, June 12 at 7:30 PM at the OKX Theater at BMCC TPAC, Tuesday, June 13 at 5:15 PM at AMC 19th St. East 6, and Thursday, June 15 at 2:30 PM at Village East by Angelika.

Advanced tickets for the three screenings of "Waitress: Filmed Live on Broadway" have already sold out, so Rush tickets are the only option for those who want to attend.

The world premiere screening is the result of nearly two years of post-production work by STEAM Motion and Sound, who also produced the filmed captures of Aladdin: The Broadway MusicalHeathers the Musical, and Kinky Boots.

"Waitress: Filmed Live on Broadway" is directed by STEAM's resident director Brett Sullivan, along with Diane Paulus and Jessie Nelson. The film is produced by Michael Roiff, Barry & Fran Weissler, Sara Bareilles, Jessie Nelson, and Paul Morphos.

Although the filming was never officially announced, we got a glimpse into the making of the capture back in August when Sara Bareilles teased the film in post-production at the STEAM offices in Brooklyn.

"Waitress: Filmed Live on Broadway" features Bareilles's original Tony Award-nominated score, a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam), and stage direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Jagged Little Pill, Pippin) based on the Motion Picture Written by Adrienne Shelly.

The festival organizers and producers of "Waitress: Filmed Live on Broadway" are thrilled with the overwhelming response to the film and the Rush ticket option that provides a chance for more people to see the show. Be sure to arrive early if you plan to use the Rush system, and don't miss out on this exciting event!
