
Heathers the Musical to Stream on Icon Film Channel Starting May 1
Icon Film Distribution has announced today that the live capture of Heathers: The Musical will be coming to the streaming channel starting May 1, 2023. The show will be available to stream both via Icon's online platform and its dedicated Amazon channel. Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment, a division of Kaleidoscope Film Distribution, will release the Special Edition home media release of Heathers this June with exclusive footage filmed in May 2022 at the show's London home. Both releases will mark the first time the Heathers film will debut in the UK after premiering last year on the Roku Channel in the US and Canada. The musical is now available to stream through the free ad-supported platform. Icon acquired the exclusive distribution rights to Heathers, which will be its first stage musical release. The film will become available on the Icon Film Channel on May 1st for one month only due to rights restrictions. Icon will be offering a free 7-day trial both through their official site and on Amazon channels. Heathers: the Musical's highly anticipated DVD and Blu-Ray release will be coming June 5, with both releases now available to pre-order. A pre-order link was added to our Heathers page. In addition to an attached poster, the Blu-Ray release will include an extra disc with a special Sing-Along version of the musical where fans will be able to sing along with animated lyrics to their favorite songs throughout the show. The DVD will retail for £10, with the Blu-Ray 2-disc set priced at £15. Amazon is currently offering a discount on the Blu-Ray release which is available to pre-order for £12.99. The DVD will be set to PAL regions, with the Blu-Ray release being region-free. The musical's live capture was produced by STEAM Motion & Sound, known for the filmings of Newsies, The Phantom of the Opera, Kinky Boots, and many more. Upcoming releases from STEAM include Waitress on Broadway, The Prince of Egypt, and Bonnie and Clyde the Musical starring Jeremy Jordan. Based on the 1989 cult classic film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, the musical adaptation follows Westerberg High student Veronica Sawyer, whose dreams of popularity finally start to come true when she’s taken under the wings of the three beautiful, yet impossibly cruel Heathers.
