Heathers the Musical Comes to Cinemas March 28; Special Screening Announced

Cornnuts, today is the day! The highly anticipated live capture of Heathers: The Musical premieres in UK cinemas March 28 thanks to Kaleidoscope Film Distribution.

Heathers was captured live at its London home starring Ailsa Davidson as Veronica Sawyer and Simon Gordon as J.D. at its London home back in May 2022.

The cinema premiere will mark the first time Heathers will be shown in the UK since its streaming debut on the Roku Channel last September. The musical is still available to stream through the free ad-supported streaming platform in the US and Canada.

 


 

Heathers premieres in cinemas across the UK and Ireland today as a one-night-only event. Full listings are now available through the film's official website.

Following the one-night cinema premiere, Heathers will be released a 2-disc special edition Blu-Ray in June, which will include exclusive footage and behind-the-scenes content. The DVD and Blu-Ray are expected to be released June 5th, 2023, and are now available to pre-order.

The Greenwich Picturehouse presentation will feature a live Q&A session with special guests that include Ailsa Davidson (Veronica Sawyer), Vivian Panka (Heather Duke), Teleri Hughes (Heather McNamara), and Mhairi Angus (Martha "Dumptruck" Dunnstock). Tickets for the special screening are now on sale.

 


 

The musical's live capture was produced by STEAM Motion & Sound, known for the live captures of NewsiesThe Phantom of the OperaKinky Boots, and many more. Upcoming releases from STEAM include Waitress on BroadwayThe Prince of Egypt, and Bonnie and Clyde the Musical starring Jeremy Jordan.

Wickedly funny and with dazzling book, music, and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe, Heathers The Musical is based on the 1988 cult hit that starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater and produced by Bill Kenwright and Paul Taylor-Mills, the team behind the acclaimed stage adaptation of Carrie.

With direction from Andy Fickman and electrifying choreography by Gary Lloyd, this is one class production you can't afford to skip. Greetings, salutations.
