Heathers the Musical Becomes Best-Selling DVD on Amazon

It took the DVD release of the London-based musical just two days to become Amazon UK's best-selling musical DVD, with the Blu-Ray release taking the fourth spot, surpassing other popular musicals such as West Side Story, The Greatest Showman, Mamma Mia!, and The Wizard of Oz.

Before being released on physical media, the film will premiere this March in cinemas across the UK and Ireland, making it the first time the live capture will be available in the UK since its streaming debut last year in the US and Canada.

Heathers was filmed last year at its London home, starring its "homecoming" revival cast featuring Ailsa Davidson, Simon Gordon, and Maddison Firth.

Unlike other musicals that have waited years before releasing their live captures (we're looking at you, Hamilton), Heathers was released to streaming just three months after being filmed. The recording, which was only available in the US and Canada until now, will now be released in all parts of the world.

Kaleidoscope Home Distribution will release Heathers: the Musical on DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK on June 5, 2023. Both releases are now available to pre-order and will become available through most retailers this summer. A pre-order link was added to our Heathers page.

The DVD will be Region 2, priced at £10. The Blu-Ray edition will retail for £15 and be region-free.

The musical was captured live by STEAM Motion & Sound, known for its popular captures of Newsies, The Phantom of the Opera, Kinky Boots, and many more. Upcoming releases from STEAM include Waitress, The Prince of Egypt, and Bonnie and Clyde the Musical, starring Jeremy Jordan.
