VIDEO: Watch the All-New Trailer for the Heathers Cinema Release

The highly anticipated live capture of Heathers: The Musical will be coming to cinemas across the UK & Ireland on March 28th; Kaleidoscope Film Distribution released a brand new trailer for the upcoming cinema release today.

The cinema premiere will mark the first time Heathers will be shown in the UK since its streaming release last year in the US and Canada. The musical is still available to stream through the free ad-supported Roku Channel but unavailable in markets outside the US.

Heathers was filmed last year at its London home, starring some of its original 2021 off-West End cast, including Ailsa Davidson as Veronica Sawyer. Following the successful Heathers UK tour, Simon Gordon and Maddison Firth joined the London cast and appeared in the filming.

Kaleidoscope Film Distribution will distribute Heathers to cinemas around the UK and Ireland as a one-night-only event on March 28th, 2023. Screenings are now on sale through Empire CinemasPicture HouseThe Light, and other independent venues. In addition, full listings for Heathers can now be found on the film's official website.

The musical was captured live in association with STEAM Motion & Sound, known for its other filmed productions (NewsiesThe Phantom of the OperaKinky Boots, and many more). Upcoming releases from STREAM include Waitress on Broadway, The Prince of Egypt, and Bonnie and Clyde the Musical starring Jeremy Jordan.

In the press statement dated January 26th, Kaleidoscope added that a "home entertainment release will follow [the cinema event]," which could also indicate the musical will likely be released on DVD and Blu-Ray following the cinema showings.

Wickedly funny and with dazzling book, music, and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe, Heathers The Musical is based on the 1988 cult hit that starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater and produced by Bill Kenwright and Paul Taylor-Mills, the team behind the acclaimed stage adaptation of Carrie. With direction from Andy Fickman and electrifying choreography by Gary Lloyd, this is one class production you can't afford to skip. Greetings, salutations.
