Broadway's Camelot With Richard Harris Streams Free Tomorrow

The 1980 Broadway production of Lerner & Loewe's Camelot, starring Richard Harris, will be streaming for free tomorrow.

The live capture was originally part of the cable series "HBO Theatre" in 1982 and captured the musical revival live on stage at New York's Winter Garden Theatre.

The musical features a romantic triangle between Arthur, Guenevere, and Lancelot, a quest to establish democracy and justice over chaos, and the bittersweet wish for the world to be as it once was.

The musical earned a Tony nomination for the Broadway run and two Cable Ace nods when it aired on HBO in 1982.

The filmed production stars Richard Harris as Arthur, Meg Bussert as Guenevere, Muenz as Lancelot, and Thor Fields as Tom of Warwick. HBO filmed the show live in 1981 right before Harris and Muenz took the show on the road across the US.

Broadway's Camelot will be streaming globally for free on February 3rd, 2023 for 24 hours. The stream is made available thanks to "Broadway at Home" from Broadway on Demand. The musical is now available in our list of free musicals and plays.

The filmed production stars Richard Harris as King Arthur, Meg Bussert as Guenevere, Richard Muenz as Lancelot Du Lac, Barrie Ingham as King Pelinore, James Valentine as Merlyn, Richard Backus as Mordred, William Parry as Sir Dinidan, Thor Fields as Tom of Warwick, Andy McAvin as Sir Sagramore, Jeanne Caryl as Nimne, Robert Molnar as Dap.

Early last year, it was announced that Aaron Sorkin and Bartlett Sher are set to bring a reimagined production of the musical to Broadway, set to open this December at LCT's Vivian Beaumont Theater. The revival will star Andrew Burnap as Arthur, Phillipa Soo as Guenevere, and Jordan Donica as Lancelot
