Funny Girl’s Julie Benko Birdland Concert Will Stream Live

Broadway’s Julie Benko, who is starring in Funny Girl alongside Lea Michele, will be appearing soon at Birdland in celebration of Mardi Gras! Joined by six instrumentalists (including her jazz-pianist spouse Jason Yeager), she will be performing in a classic New Orleans jazz style.

The concert is scheduled for February 6th at the Birdland Jazz Club, and will also be live-streamed worldwide.

Here's how to get tickets to the concert next month, whether attending in person or watching online:

Julie Benko, who is Broadway's Fanny Brice every Thursday evening as Lea Michele's alternate, will return to Birdland Jazz Club on February 6th at 7 PM ET. This is the second time Benko will be performing in the known jazz club in New York.

Benko will be joined by her band Euphonic Gumbo, including her jazz-pianist spouse Jason Yeager. Band members include Evan Christopher on clarinet, Michael O’Brien on bass, Jay Sawyer on drums, Andy Warren on trumpet, and Ron Wilkins on trombone.

The live concert has a $45 music charge, with tickets now on sale through Birdland. The live stream option will be priced at $25, with tickets available to purchase here.

Celebrating Mardi Gras, the evening will include music from "Hand in Hand", Benko and Yeager’s recent album (including the songs “Louisiana Fairy Tale,” and “Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans?”).

Benko’s debut album, "Introducing Julie Benko" will also be featured (“Love for Sale,” “Tomorrow Is a Day for You”) together with favorite classics such as “Basin St. Blues,” and “When the Saints Go Marching In”.

Benko has previously appeared on Broadway in the productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Les Misérables, and Spring Awakening. Her off-Broadway/regional credits include Once, The Fantasticks, Bar Mitzvah Boy, Our Town, Rags, The Golem of Havana, …Spelling Bee, and more.

Her new album "Hand in Hand" with jazz pianist Jason Yeager was released in August on Club44 Records.
