Here's how to stream the festival's "The Taming of the Shrew":

Shakespeare’s play of comedy about courtship and conquest follows Katherina and Petruchio in a breathtaking battle of the sexes. The powerful and the funny collide slickly in the hands of Stratford Festival, featuring Deborah Hay and Ben Carlson as the exciting couple in an award-winning performance.

The Stratford Festival production of Shakespeare’s boisterous comedy will stir your emotions with the love story of Katherina and Petruchio, the feisty couple at the center of this intense and funny battle of wills.

"The Taming of the Shrew" will stream for free globally on September 11th, 2022 for 24 hours only. A link to the stream has been added to our updating list of free streaming musicals and plays.

In his review for The Toronto Star, Richard Ouzounian said: "Not every piece of comic business works and Abraham should develop a sharper eye at separating the wheat from the chaff, but the bottom line is that the basic engine of the show chugs along merrily, while Carlson drives it with daring speed around the curves and Hay finally pulls it up the mountaintop to glory. There are performances at Stratford which people boast for decades about having seen. I’m going on record that Deborah Hay’s Katherina will be one of them."
