Filmed Heathers: The Musical to Stream Free as Roku Original
This is an updating story. Just announced - Roku will be bringing the live stage adaptation of Heathers: The Musical exclusively to The Roku Channel as a Roku Original special next month. The musical will be released in the US and Canada on Friday, September 16, 2022. Steam Motion and Sound, who previously filmed major hits such as Waitress, Prince of Egypt, Aladdin, and Kinky Boots, captured Heathers the Musical live in performance back in May at London's The Other Palace. The musical started its UK journey with a cult following and was a box office record-breaker at The Other Palace in 2018, before transferring to the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited season later that year. Last year the production returned to the Haymarket for another successful West End season, while in parallel with a UK tour, before returning to it is original home, The Other Palace in November 2021 for another record-breaking run. Wickedly funny and with dazzling book, music and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe, HEATHERS THE MUSICAL is based on the 1988 cult hit that starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.
