Official Hamilton Cocktail Recipes for Your July 4 Watch Party
It's been two years since Hamilton dropped on Disney Plus, and we think that's a great reason to organize your own watch party - with accompanying drinks, of course. We've collected the recipes for all four cocktails you can buy at the lobby of the Richard Rogers Theatre - ones that any Hamilton watch party will need. Check out Hamilton's Founder's Fizz, Hamiltini, Dueling Sangrias, and Burrbon Manhattan: Hamilton’s Founder’s Fizz Serves: 1 Ingredients: 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup water 1.5 oz gin Lime juice Ice cubes Preparation: Prepare simple syrup: Add 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Let cool, then pour into a glass jar and seal tightly with a lid. Simple syrup will keep, refrigerated, for about one month. Combine 1.5 oz. gin, 1 oz. simple syrup, a splash of lime juice, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Cover and shake vigorously. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice and fill with seltzer. Hamiltini Serves: 1 Ingredients: Vodka 1.5 oz. Sour apple liqueur 1.5 oz. Ice cubes Lemon-lime soda Lime wedge (optional) Preparation: Combine all but soda in a cocktail shaker. Cover, and shake vigorously. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice, and top with lemon-lime soda. Garnish with lime slice. Dueling Sangrias Serves: 3 Ingredients: 1 c. sliced strawberries 1 mango cubed 1 peach sliced 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1/4 c. Grand Marnier 1 apple sliced 1 orange sliced 1 lime sliced 1 (750-ml.) bottle white wine chilled 1 c. seltzer Preparation: In a medium bowl, combine strawberries, mango, peach, sugar, and Grand Marnier. Refrigerate for 1 hour. To a large pitcher, add refrigerated fruit and apple, orange, and lime slices. Pour in white wine and seltzer, and stir to combine. Serve well chilled. Burrbon Manhattan Serves: 1 Ingredients: 2 1/2 ounces bourbon whiskey 1-ounce sweet vermouth 2 to 3 dashes aromatic bitters Maraschino cherry for garnish Orange peel for garnish Preparation: Fill a martini glass to the brim with ice so it chills while you make the Manhattan. Add whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitters to a shaker or glass with a few ice cubes, and then stir or gently shake. Do not over do it, you do not want the ice to water down the drink. Discard ice from martini glass then strain Manhattan into the chilled glass and garnish with cherry and orange peel.
