The Shows Must Go On! Will Continue Streaming Musicals for Free This Weekend

Universal Studio's "The Shows Must Go On!" initiative will return this weekend and continue its series of free musical streams. The first show to stream this weekend would be Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!

Here's how to stream Joseph this weekend, and what we know about the channel's return:

Universal's The Shows Must Go On! Youtube channel was the highlight for theater fans around the world during the 2020 lockdowns, giving millions the ability to stream Broadway and West End musicals for free every week. Their previous lineup included The Phantom of the Opera, An American in Paris, 42nd Street, Fame the Musical, and more.

The channel has now announced a return with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat which will be streaming in full on Saturday, July 2 from 5pm BST / 12pm ET / 9am PT. The show will be available globally for 24 hours only through The Shows Must Go On! channel.

The filmed production is inspired by the record-breaking London Palladium production and stars Donny Osmond, Maria Friedman, Richard Attenborough, and Joan Collins in the title roles.

Called "a lively and colorful journey through Ancient Egypt", the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical follows the rags to riches story of Joseph, his eleven brothers, and the coat of many colors.

Spectacular visuals and an enchanting score packed with now-classic songs that include: Close Every Door to Me, Go Go Go Joseph and Any Dream Will Do.

The Shows Must Go On! YouTube Channel was launched in 2020 by UPHE Content Group (Universal) and has made available a selection of Andrew Lloyd Webber's much loved musicals. The series launched with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2000) which will now make a return to the channel for 24 hours. The second production that was made available was the rock classic Jesus Christ Superstar (2012). Each musical was available weekly for a limited time, giving musical theater fans an incredible opportunity to enjoy beloved shows from their living rooms.
