Broadway Good Night, and Good Luck Coming to DVD & Blu-ray
Broadway audiences will soon have the chance to bring one of the most talked-about productions of recent years home. Magnolia Home Entertainment announced that the Broadway play Good Night, and Good Luck will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 30, 2025, making the acclaimed production available to fans worldwide for the first time since its stage run. Based on the Academy Award-nominated 2005 film directed by George Clooney, Good Night, and Good Luck was adapted for the stage by Clooney and longtime collaborator Grant Heslov. The production marked Clooney’s Broadway debut, where he starred as legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow in a gripping retelling of Murrow’s televised clash with Senator Joseph McCarthy at the height of the 1950s Red Scare. The play opened at the Winter Garden Theatre in March 2025 and quickly became one of the season’s biggest hits, earning five Tony Award nominations, including Best Play and Best Leading Actor for Clooney. Critics praised the show for its timely themes and powerful staging, while audiences flocked to see Clooney’s commanding performance in person. This upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release ensures that the production will live on beyond its limited Broadway run, giving fans who missed the play or those who want to revisit it the opportunity to experience it in full. The release will feature the Broadway staging captured live, offering a front-row seat to a landmark theatrical event. The Good Night, and Good Luck Broadway DVD and Blu-ray will be available beginning December 30, 2025, from Magnolia Home Entertainment. The Broadway run of Good Night, and Good Luckwas already historic. In June 2025, CNN broadcast a live performance of the play nationwide—the first time in Broadway history a non-musical play was aired live on television. The broadcast introduced millions of viewers to the production, expanding its reach beyond the Winter Garden Theatre. Now, with this official home release, Good Night, and Good Luck continues to redefine how Broadway can be experienced. Both fans of the original 2005 film and theatergoers who admire the growing trend of filmed stage productions will find this release a significant addition to their collections. As Clooney himself remarked during the live broadcast: “Live TV. No net. Buckle up everyone.” That same immediacy and power are now captured permanently for audiences to revisit long after the curtain has come down.Pre-Order Information
