The Show Must Go On Film Now Streams Free Through Broadway on Demand

The 2021 documentary "The Show Must Go On", which follows the backstage drama behind the world tours of The Phantom of the Opera and Cats during the pandemic, is streaming now for free.

Directed by Dori Berinstein and Sammi Cannold, the 90-minute film premiered last year in support of The Actors Fund and is now available to stream online through Broadway on Demand.

In the wake of the global pandemic, the documentary chronicled the race against time to keep the world tours of Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musicals running while going through the very early months of 2020.

The documentary is now streaming through Broadway on Demand's streaming platform, Broadway at Home. It is available worldwide for free and can also be streamed through AirPlay and Chromecast.

From the frontlines in Seoul, The Show Must Go On follows a company of artists involved in two musical tours--the World Tour of The Phantom of The Opera and the South Korean Tour of Cats. Both of these productions managed to push ahead safely during the early pandemic months and helped show the way forward to the whole industry.

The film also documents Andrew Lloyd Webber, who is a continent away using the example set by his Korean associates to fight for theater's future on the West End and beyond.

The film looks at the survival of the theater industry and the worldwide resuscitation of an art form in an extremely difficult time for the world. It looks at the human story of the resilience of storytellers and their determination to heal, create, and inspire.

The Show Must Go On is co-directed and produced by Dori Berinstein and Sammi Cannold, in corporation with WYSIWYG Studios, Kwan-woo Park, and Elizabeth Armstrong.
