London’s Broken Wings Musical to Be Streamed Worldwide This Week

Initially set for a BroadwayHD debut, the much-anticipated live capture of Broken Wings the Musical will now premiere through a different streaming platform starting this week.

Producer Aria Entertainment (The Last Five Years, Little Women the Musical) premiered Broken Wings last year, based on the best-selling novel by Kahlil Gibran with an original score from Middle Eastern duo Nadim Naaman and Dana Al Fardan.

The musical's 2022 West End premiere was directed by Bronagh Lagan and staged at London's Charing Cross Theatre.

Here's how to stream Broken Wings the Musical this week:

The musical is set in New York City's 1923. An aging Gibran narrates our tale through exquisite poetry and enchanting music, transporting us back two decades across continents to turn-of-the-century Beirut. Gibran meets Selma, who has an instant connection and a love affair. However, their journey to happiness is soon thrown off course, as the pair face obstacles that shake the delicate foundation of their partnership. Will their love win out or will their dream of a life together be torn apart?

While originally announced for a BroadwayHD streaming debut in September, the musical's premiere on the platform has been pushed back a day before its release, and now looks to be completely canceled. The musical will now stream worldwide through Stream.Theatre  starting December 21 all through January 2, 2023. A direct link to the stream can now be found on our Broken Wings page.

While a subscription to the service is not needed to watch the musical, a one-time fee of £13 applies.

The cast filmed includes Naaman (as Kahlil Gibran), Yasmeen Audi (as Layla Bawab/Ensemble), Haroun Al Jeddal (as Mansour Bey Galib), Lucca Chadwick-Patel (as Young Kahlil Gibran), Soophia Foroughi (as Mother), Alex Kais (as Ensemble), Johan Munir (as Bishop Bulos), Ayesha Patel (as Dima Bawab), Stephen Rahman-Hughes (as Faris) and Noah Sinigaglia (as Selma Karamy).

Broken wings is directed by Bronagh Lagan, with musical direction by Erika Gundesen, orchestrations by Joe Davison, set and costume by Gregor Donnelly, choreography by Philip Michael Thomas, lighting by Nic Farman, sound by Andrew Johnson and assistant direction by Teenie Macleod.
