Here's all we know about the 2009 production of Nine, and how to stream the film this week:

The musical tells the story of film director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis) who is facing a midlife crisis while anticipating his dreaded 40th birthday. Contini finds himself struggling to find meaning, purpose, and a script for his latest film.

With only a week left before filming for his feature begins, he desperately searches for answers and inspiration from his wife, his mistress, his muse, and his mother. As his chaotic profession steadily destroys his personal life, Guido must find a balance between creating art and succumbing to its obsessive demands.

The 2009 movie musical will be streaming all week through TUBI. A direct link to the stream has been added to our growing list of free musicals and plays that are streaming for free.

The original Broadway production opened in 1982 starring Raul Julia, winning five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. It was last seen on Broadway in 2003 when the Roundabout Theatre Company produced a revival of the show starring Antonio Banderas, Chita Rivera (who was later replaced by Eartha Kitt), Jane Krakowski, and Laura Benanti (a familiar duo that later collaborated again in She Love Me).

In his review for Rolling Stone Magazine, Peter Travers said: "Rob Marshall's flawed but frequently dazzling Nine is a hot-blooded musical fantasia full of song, dance, raging emotion and simmering sexuality. By my score card, Marshall hits more than he misses....his work is visionary and electric. And the script, by Michael Tolkin and the late, much missed Anthony Minghella, is uncommonly witty."
