The Play That Goes Wrong to Be Filmed for Release With Original Cast

The Play That Goes Wrong will be filmed live later this week in Chicago featuring the original West End cast!

Here's all we know about the upcoming filming of The Play That Goes Wrong:

In an email sent to audience members, it was announced that one performance of The Play That Goes Wrong will be filmed live on June 25th. The audience-invited performance comes after taping the show without an audience at the Broadway Playhouse theatre in Chicago.

The message read: "You are invited to attend a live capture of The Play That Goes Wrong starring the original UK cast on Saturday, June 25, at 2 pm, at the Broadway Playhouse (175 E. Chestnut, Chicago). While this is a free performance, there are strict guidelines in order to attend including the proper wearing of masks."

The show will be filmed in Chicago's Broadway Playhouse theatre where the US national tour played until recently. The Chicago stop of the national tour ended early due to breakthrough cases in the cast and officially ended May 29, 2022.

The cast featured in the live taping would be the original UK cast which includes Rob Falconer (Trevor), Dave Hearn (Max), Henry Lewis (Robert), Charlie Russell (Sandra), Jonathan Sayer (Dennis), Henry Shields (Chris), Greg Tannahill (Jonathan) and Nancy Zamit (Annie).

The original cast of The Play That Goes Wrong recently reprised their roles for two weeks as part of the production’s current UK tour, 10 years after they first performed the play at The Old Red Lion Pub Theatre. The original cast performed at the Opera House Manchester, 30 May – 4 June 2022, and Theatre Royal Newcastle, 6 – 11 June 2022.
