This new documentary follows both the London and Broadway productions of Marianne Elliott’s reimagined gender-swapped production of Stephen Sondheim's “Company”.

Here's how to stream this 'Company' documentary this Friday:

Great Performances: Keeping Company with Sondheim Premieres Friday, May 27 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings), and will be available through our list of free streams.

Company was revived on Broadway twice - once in 1995, and again in 2007. The John Doyle production featured a minimal set and was filmed for television (and home distribution).

In 2011, a special gala event which was produced at the New York Philharmonic was also filmed starring Patti Lupone and Neil Patrick Harris.

Both productions of the show are available to stream - the 2007 Broadway revival starring Raúl Esparza and the 2011 concert starring Patti LuPone and Neil Patrick Harris

Per the press release, this new documentary "features rehearsal and performance footage, plus new interviews with Elliott, Sondheim, Katrina Lenk, Patti LuPone and members of the original 1970 cast".

The broadcast tells the story of the show’s Broadway debut in a city on the verge of bankruptcy to its reimagination 50 years later as both Broadway and New York City emerge from one of the greatest crises in contemporary history.
