Broadway's Girl From The North Country to Be Filmed for Release

The acclaimed musical Girl From the North Country, which played its final performance at Broadway's Belasco Theatre January 23 and will reopen at April 29 for 50 performances will be filmed live this month!

Here's all we know about the upcoming live capture - and how you can get free tickets to the taping:

Girl From the North Country originally opened March 5, 2020, but closed just a couple of performances later due to COVID restrictions. The production reopened October 13, 2021 but closed again in January. The show will now re-open again for both the live filming and 50 performances.

The musical will capture a full performance April 28th in front of an invited audience and tape additional on-stage shots later that day. Free tickets to the taping can be found here.

A distribution platform has not yet been announced.

The show, written and directed by celebrated playwright Conor McPherson, boldly reimagines 20 legendary songs of Bob Dylan, including Hurricane, I Want You, Slow Train Coming, Forever Young and Like A Rolling Stone as they’ve never been heard before.

This spiritually uplifting and beautiful story is set in Duluth, MN, in 1934, when a group of wanderers’ lives intersect at a house full of music, life and hope weaving through a story the Chicago Tribune declares is “Nothing less than a Broadway Revelation.”
