FUNNY GIRL Revival Starring Sheridan Smith Now Streams Globally for Free

The recent West End revival of Funny Girl, starring Olivier Award winner Sheridan Smith, is now available for free streaming!

 

 

Funny Girl, which catapulted Barbra Streisand to stardom in the 1960s, was filmed during its final week of performances at the Manchester Palace Theatre. Before touring the U.K., the production played London's Menier Chocolate Factory and the Savoy Theatre in the West End.

With music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill, and book by Isobel Lennart, the musical features such tunes as “People,” “You Are Woman, I Am Man,” and “Don't Rain on My Parade.” The revival featured a revised book by Tony winner Harvey Fierstein.

Smith played Fanny Brice, a real-life Brooklyn musical hall singer who became one of Broadway's biggest stars. The production was recorded during the final week of the run at Manchester Palace Theatre by Digital Theatre and will be released in cinemas by Trafalgar Releasing. Tickets for the screening go on sale from 10am on 1 August and the screening will take place at cinemas nationwide on 24 October.
