Hamilton’s Founder’s Fizz

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup water

1.5 oz gin

Lime juice

Ice cubes

Preparation:

  1. Prepare simple syrup: Add 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Let cool, then pour into a glass jar and seal tightly with a lid. Simple syrup will keep, refrigerated, for about one month.

  2. Combine 1.5 oz. gin, 1 oz. simple syrup, a splash of lime juice, and ice in a cocktail shaker.

  3. Cover and shake vigorously.

  4. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice and fill with seltzer.
