Rent Filmed Live on Broadway (2008)
Based on Puccini's opera La bohème, Rent tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create in New York City in the 1990s. This is a live recording of Rent's final performance after more than 12 years and 5000 shows.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's new venture 'The Hot Ticket' filmed RENT live on Broadway during two performances- a regularly scheduled performance on August 20 2008, and the final performance on September 7.
The film screened in US cinemas shortly after and was released on DVD and Blu-Ray.
