Tickets Now on Sale for WAITRESS: Filmed Live on Broadway Screenings

Tickets are now on sale for the highly-anticipated screenings of "Waitress: Live on Broadway" at this year's Tribeca Film Festival.

The film, which was captured during the show's recent Broadway run at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, will have its world premiere at the festival in June. The musical was filmed live during the show's return engagement to Broadway in September 2021. Filmed on Stage shared exclusive photos from the filming days.

The cast filmed included Sara Bareilles, who wrote the show's original Tony Award-nominated score and played the lead role of Jenna, Christopher Fitzgerald as Ogie, Drew Gehling as Dr. Pomatter, Charity Angel Dawson as Becky, Caitlin Houlahan as Dawn, Eric Anderson as Cal, Dakin Matthews as Joe, and Joe Tippett as Earl.

This world premiere screening is the result of nearly two years of post-production work by STEAM Motion and Sound, who also produced the filmed captures of Aladdin: The Broadway MusicalHeathers the Musical, and Kinky Boots.

"Waitress: Live on Broadway" will have three screenings: Monday, June 12 at 7:30 PM at the OKX Theater at BMCC TPAC, Tuesday, June 13 at 5:15 PM at AMC 19th St. East 6, and Thursday, June 15 at 2:30 PM at Village East by Angelika. Advanced tickets for the three screenings of "Waitress: Live on Broadway" can be purchased here.

For those who miss out on advanced tickets, Rush tickets will be available when advanced tickets are no longer available at other venues. The Rush system functions as a standby line that forms at the venue approximately one hour before the scheduled start time.

Admittance is based on availability and will begin roughly 10 minutes prior to the film's start time. Rush Tickets are the same price as advance tickets and are payable upon entry.

Waitress: Filmed Live on Broadway! is directed by STEAM's resident director Brett Sullivan, along with Diane Paulus and Jessie Nelson. While no information was shared on a public release date for the live capture outside of the festival, producers expect to find the musical a permanent home through the screenings at the festival.

Although the filming was never officially announced, we got a glimpse into the making of the capture back in August when Sara Bareilles teased the film when she revealed it was in post-production at the STEAM offices in Brooklyn.

The film is produced by Michael Roiff, Barry & Fran Weissler, Sara Bareilles, Jessie Nelson, and Paul Morphos. Waitress features Bareilles's original Tony Award-nominated score, a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam), and stage direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Jagged Little Pill, Pippin) based on the Motion Picture Written by Adrienne Shelly.
