More West End productions set to stream full archive recordings this month - here's what's coming!

With Broadway and West End theaters still completely shut, commercial UK producers have decided to step up and offer archive recordings of their shows for online streaming.

Announcements are expected throughout the month of November - with the first show streaming as soon as next week.

First on the list is the archived recording of the West End production of Morgan Lloyd Malcolm's Emilia, which will start streaming in November for two weeks (direct link to the stream, here).

The production would stream on a pay-what-you-can model, where viewers will be able to contribute as little as £1 to stream the show for a week. The play was taped during its London run at the Vaudeville Theatre.

Malcolm said: "We are releasing a filmed version of our beloved production so that Emilia can provide much-needed hope and inspiration during this most difficult of times for our industry."

The production will release captioned and audio described recordings as well, with the production being streamed November 10th-24th. The cast and creative team will join for an online watch party November 10th at 7:30PM GMT.

400 years ago Emilia Bassano wanted her voice to be heard. It wasn’t. Could she have been the “Dark Lady” of Shakespeare’s sonnets? What of her own poems? Why was her story erased from history?

Emilia and her sisters reach out to us across the centuries with passion, fury, laughter and song. Listen to them. Let them inspire and unite us. Celebrate women’s voices through the story of this trailblazing, forgotten woman. Stand up and be counted.
