Smokey Joe's Cafe: The Songs of Leiber and Stoller (2001)

Smokey Joe's Cafe, Broadway's longest-running musical revue, highlights the best songs by the legendary song-writing duo, Leiber and Stoller. Included numbers are Neighborhood, Fools Fall In Love, Yakety Yak, Charlie Brown, Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog, Love Potion #9 and Stand By Me.

Smokey Joe’s Cafe opened on Broadway at the Virginia Theatre on March 2, 1995. The original Broadway cast included Ken Ard, Adrian Bailey, Brenda Braxton, Victor Trent Cook, B.J. Crosby, Pattie Darcy Jones, DeLee Lively, and Frederick B. Owens - some of which appeared in the filming that took place almost five years after opening.

The final three performances of the musical were filmed by the Broadway Television Network on January 8th 2000 and aired on the channel several months later as a pay-per-view programming. The show also had a brief cinemas run which was not successful.

Broadway Worldwide eventually released the program on VHS and DVD in the early 2000's - both long discontinued due to complex right agreements with the original creators of the show.
