The musical halted performances during May 3 - 19 2022 in order to film the show at The Other Palace theatre in the West End. to allow for filming to take place ahead of a future release.

Following a week-long filming process without an audience, producers held a lottery for tickets to two filmed performances with the purpose of capturing audience reactions for the film.

The musical was filmed by Steam Motion and Sound, which is known for filming stage musicals such as Waitress, Aladdin, Kinky Boots, Newsies, Miss Saigon, and Billy Elliot.
